What's In My Future?

According to the Fortune Teller, I'll be having a little Tropical Island getaway!  Wouldn't that be nice?  Temperatures here in Iowa have been pretty chilly and Autumn is in full swing.  The leaves are falling from the trees and the plants are resting until Spring.
For my "Fortune Teller" Globe, I've used Card Decor Set #7, Vintage Gold Piccolo Enamel and Vintage Black Piccolo Enamel.  The card decor sets are perfect for off the page projects.  The Clear ball is a Clear Christmas Ornament and can be purchased at many Craft Stores.  I've used acetate for the inside and adhered a "Fortune" to the front.  The bottom base is a tuna can that has been heat embossed with Vintage Gold.  The decorative cover was an antique shoppe find.  Place a small battery operated teal light in the can and it lights the glass ball!
I used some fiber fill in a pair of vintage gloves and glued them to the ball.
This is my last post for Hobby Baby and it's been lots of fun and an opportunity to work with some amazing products.  Hope you get a chance to make your "fortunes" come true :)

Thanks Mae for the fun opportunity!

Simply Jewelry

Hello friends!  Jan here to share a simple project!    I love the GlobeCraft Memories charms and accents! They make the art of jewelry making so much fun! I've used Piccolo Accents, Keys to my heart Embellishments and given them a generous coat of 24K Gold Embossing Powder. To protect the heart and key, I've applied 2 coats of Glastique Gloss Finishing. I started my adventure at Michael's where I found Tori Spelling jewelry pieces. I simply finished the piece off with the Keys to my hert embellishments! If you love a good deal you can use the promo cade TS25 and receive 25% off your entire order :)

A Mini Is A Mini

Hello Hobby Baby fans!  Jan here with a fun little mini that's full of pockets, pages and tags!  I have a pattern for a greeting card that had this diagonal fold and I thought it may be fun to make it into a mini.  I simply used the peek and valley fold for the binding.  I've used Globecraft Memories Mini Bubble Frames with Stands (I left off the stand).
The papers are Bo Bunny Weekend Market Collection.  I love the scales and Steampunk style  of the papers.  I've added a Tim Holtz "Game Spinner" to the inside of the bubble.  The metal gears are by 7 gypsies.  Do you see the little copper gears?  These are new by Globecraft Memories and will soon be on the website.  Here's a close up of the inside.  Remember you get 25% off your entire purchase by using TS25 os the code!

Living In A Bubble: Steampunk Style

Hello friends!  Jan here with my first post as a member of Hobby Baby Design Team.  I'm so excited to be part of this team and have an opportunity to work with these amazing products!  The Globes are so much fun to work with and they can be used in altered art projects as well as framed projects. The NEW chipboard gears were the perfect size for the head trinket.  I heat embossed the gears with Micro Copper Powder.   Globecraft Memories is generously offering 25% off your entire purchase!  Use coupon code TS25.
I started with a cardboard birdhouse.
Use the Oval Frame as a template and cut an oval in the front of the house.
Paint the house, base and the head with black acrylic paint.
Paint the spigot knob and roof with copper acrylic paint.  Let dry.
Heat emboss random areas of the knob using copper powder.
Heat emboss the chipboard gears.
Ink chipboard frame and stamp script.
Using Crop-a-dile, punch holes in the center and insert a battery operated tea light.
Glue the tea light in place.
Glue metal gears and chipboard gears to head trinket.  Glue over the tea light.  Glue the Globe over the head trinket.
Using Glastique, adhere a beaded chain around the outer edge of the globe.
Add corsage pins, charms and chain to the base.
Insert the spigot knob in the base of the house.
Using glue for metal, adhere clock parts and gadgets to the house.
Make Steampunk words for the roof.
Glue into place on the roof
I painted coffee stir stick with black and copper acrylic paint.  I added silver rings to the stirs and glues them to the house.  Black on the roof and copper on the house.

Glue sticks to the roof and house using a Quick Dry Adhesive.
Hope you have enjoyed my "Living In A Bubble: Steampunk Style" Project.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
